Toyota Collaborates with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to Aid in U.S. High School Dropout Crisis

Community-conscious Toyota is very concerned about the next generation of drivers. Recently, the brand joined with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to support Diplomas to Degrees (D2D), which helps improve high school graduation rates by funding youth education programs and college preparation initiatives. The project is currently active in ten cities and was established during the past year. As part of the project, Toyota will donate  a $1.5 million grant over three years to supply support, tools, and resources to the Boys & Girls Clubs to aid high school-to-college transitions.

Toyota Regains Normal Assembly Line Production Pace

Workers at Toyota plants in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, worked additional hours in November 2011 to "catch up" after the company's plants in Thailand were disrupted by recent flooding. The plants had already part production, in part, due to Japan's earthquake and tsunami earlier this year, which diminished supplies of plastic and rubber components and electronics.
